Biography
Beginning in 2008, I have earnestly pursued a greater understanding of design, composition, value and painting, particularly in watercolor. This medium helps me express my feelings about a subject and hopefully arouse a memory or reaction from the viewer.
I especially enjoy painting children as they experience the wonders of life and God’s creations. Our nine grandchildren are my muses. I know each of their personalities, their delights, and what lights them up inside. It is a joy to preserve small moments of their lives in watercolor.
Born and raised in the quaint city of Geneva, Ohio, I graduated from Edinboro University with a BFA in Graphic Design and was able to follow my dreams through art and business. The highlight of my journey was being accepted as a Signature Member of the Ohio Watercolor Society. Submitting my work to juried shows really pushes me to improve my art.
One of my most meaningful recent projects was illustrating a children’s picture book written by my mother, Sara S. Dean—an experience that blended creativity with family legacy.
Today, my husband Louie and I live near Charlotte, North Carolina close to all our children and grandchildren. After years of owning and managing several businesses with my husband, I enjoy being able to dedicate more hours to painting while also spending precious time with family and friends.
